There’s a new homebrew competition coming up and while this isn’t in any way enough notice for you to make a beer, if you’ve made some summer style beers recently you may want to consider entering them into this. Here’s all the details:
The El Paso County Fair homebrew competition is an AHA/BJCP sanctioned event.
Categories accepted: Summer styles: Light Lager (BJCP style 1), Pils (2), Light Hybrid (6), American Ale (10), German Wheat and Rye (15), Belgian & French (16), and Fruit Beer (20).
Entries: Entries will be accepted Jul 14 – 19, 2012. Entry fee is $5 each. Make checks out to “El Paso County Fair.” Entries must be electronically registered: http://elpasocountyfair.brewcompetition.com/
Entries will be limited to the first 100. You can only enter one beer per BJCP sub-category. Each entry consists of two (2) bottles, entry fee and an entry/recipe form. Each bottle must have a bottle ID form attached with rubber bands. Bottles must have no labels, or other identifying markings (besides the bottle ID form).
Delivering Beer: Drop your beer off (8 AM to 4 PM) or ship your beer to the Fairgrounds by July 20:

Judging: Judging will take place on July 21, 2012 at the fair and will be in accordance with the BJCP guidelines.
Awards: Ribbons will be awarded in each category for first, second and third place. Additionally, a best in show award will be given. All awards will be presented at the Fair on July 21 along with scoresheets. If you are not present, they will be mailed to you.
