On Friday, we had the opportunity to join Sierra Nevada and 100+ breweries as the Beer Camp Across America tour stopped in downtown Denver. A special thanks to Ryan Arnold and everyone at Sierra Nevada for putting on quite an awesome beer festival.
With over one hundred breweries pouring, there was nary a line for anything, and the only beers commanding a line longer than 3-4 people were Paradox Beer Company‘s Peach Sour and Russian River‘s Pliny the Elder. Navigating the expanse of the park was made even easier by the handy maps that Sierra Nevada had available, pinpointing where each and every brewery was located. Definitely a plus for a festival of that size, and one that we took full advantage of.
The atmosphere was very relaxed and even with the short deluge that hit around an hour in, spirits were high. It really seemed like the breweries brought some of their best and brightest beers to share. It was hard for us to pick a favorite, but there were a few that we got more than one sample of. We had IPA’s, krieks and peach sours, but one beer we really enjoyed was Big Choice‘s #42 Poblano Stout, a smoky and peppery stout that warmed you from within.
