For events, this week has a few things not to miss. From a space beer festival this weekend to brand spanking new beers at Fieldhouse to a new brewery opening, there’s enough to keep anyone’s social calendar stocked!
Tuesday, August 12
Bristol Brewing‘s Karma Hour supports Restore Innocence, a nonprofit organization that helps victims of child trafficking. One dollar from each pint sold between 5-9 is going to the organization.
Wednesday, August 13
Fieldhouse Brewing (521 S Tejon) is hosting their first “Test Tap Wednesday.” They’ll be tapping a brand new beer every week on Wednesdays at 5pm. Each beer is brewed in a very small batch, so once its gone, its gone. This week check out their Cherry Wheat. Another fun addition is that the Global Grub Truck will be preparing an entree that pairs with each beer.
Thursday, August 14
Fieldhouse Brewing is hosting live music, and this week they have The Tejon Street Corner Thieves from 6-8pm. Head over and hope they still have some Cherry Wheat on tap…
Saturday, August 16
Iron Bird Brewing is opening! Well, it’s come down to this week, and Iron Bird Brewing is planning a grand opening for Saturday! On the corner of Costilla and Nevada, they’ve tapped the awesome design skills of Ryan Lloyd of Echo Architecture (Manitou Brewing, Wild Goose, The Machine Shop), and the place is looking super! They’re planning on opening the doors at noon with a food truck on site and plenty of beer, so it’s sure to be a good time! Look out later this week for our preview!
Sporting tons of local breweries (and a bar?) the Space Foundation’s Rocket in my Beer Festival is sure to please any beer lover. Purchase of a $24 bracelet gets you into the beer tasting and includes one complimentary admission to the Discovery Center. Beer Drinkers Guide to Colorado will be on hand, answer questions and show you why space technology makes better beer. Learning and drinking are always a great combination!
