In our hearts, Jason Yester and his crew of brewers, bartenders, servers and chefs make some amazing things that help make Colorado Springs proud. On a recent occasion, they added two more medals to their already lengthy resume!
“With the increasing momentum and passion behind barrel aged beers, along with the increasing skill level behind the brewers making these beers, it’s a true honor to win not only one but 2 silver medals in these highly competitive categories at Fobab, It’s nearly over whelming to again be named one of the top beers in world for 2014 by DRAFT Magazine on the same weekend!” – Master Brewer, Jason Yester
Fobab. Festival of Wood and Barrel aged Beers is held every year in Chicago. Featuring 90 plus breweries sporting over three hundred barrel-aged beers, this festival is not one to complain at. Medals are giving in 11 different categories ranging from classic porters and stouts to wildly acidic beers.
At Fobab, Trinity brought home two Silver medals for their 365 Day Golden Sour, which was the year-old aged version of their 7 Day sour (read about that here), as well as their Easy Swinger Wild IPA, which we felt is becoming Colorado’s newest style of beer in recent years. In addition to the festival wins, DRAFT Magazine placed Easy Swinger as one of the top 25 beers in the world that were released this year.
Congratulations to Trinity Brewing! It’s great when some of our local breweries are well represented at beer festivals around the country, and even more so when they come home with medals. We’ve loved the collaborations that Jason brings to town, especially the Wild Apple Saison they did with Epic in Denver more recently (someone give that beer a medal!!)
Editor’s note: all beers photographed were adequately enjoyed…so go get some of your own!
